President's Day week!

Today we learned a little about Abe Lincoln so we made a Abe Mask.

 Had a hard time deciding how I wanted to make the cotton balls black

Finally decided on watered down pant

then had a hard time deciding how to apply it everything kept sticking to the cotton balls

President's Day week take 2

Today we learned about President Washington .

and the cherry tree incident

First we glued the top of our tree on,

then use our finger prints for the cherries.

next everyone picked a stick to be the trunk of their tree!!

(we had to break some down to size but that was the one they hand picked.)

President's Day Week

Yesterday was President's Day and we made George Washington hats.

We discussed what a president is and who our first president was!

Vanlentine's Week!

The kids love that we are doing valentines all week for our letter V theme.

We did the five lil vanlentines poem with this hands on project.

They did so well with the temptation to eat the candy that I let them have one at the end!

took toilet paper rolls and made heart stamps,

tape it to hold shape and done!!

The kids loved stamping with these!!

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Play dough hearts for them to take home!!

put the recipe inside just in case the parents wanted to be brave and make some of their own!!

We decorated bags with hearts of all sizes and colors

Every year there is one kid that will barely put a few hearts on

then there is the kid who will put them on until there is no more left

(see below) he kept saying one more....

The kids could not wait to tear into their goodies on the table!!

I love the look on their face when they look at everything in their bags!!

More water and markers!!

This time we colored with regular markers

Then we sprayed our coffee filter hearts with a water bottle!

The kids loved the fact that they got to squirt them

and watching it spread and run!!

 just dip the dried out markers in water and paint away!

We painted our heart shape coffee filters and they turned out great!!

Heart week...

We did heart prints today!

We mixed red and white to make our color of the week PINK!! Some kids sponge printed others painted with the sponge!

This was our 1st atempt. We did a recipe that does not use cream of tartar. It was not a success.

 The outside looked good but once you squeezed it it stuck like glue.

Groundhogs Day....

We made a pop up groundhog for groundhogs day!

we pasted a poem on the back to go along with the theme!!

Groundhogs Day!

(we did this last week)

Today we made groundhog dirt pudding!

first we made the pudding then seperated it out into individual cups

next they hammered down the graham crackers and chocolate animal crackers

 then poured the "dirt" on top the pudding for a yummy dessert!!
